Recently, I talked about having signed for my first Artist Alley at Comic Con.

Shortly after having signed up for that, my sister reccomended a festival that I excitedly signed up for.

It’s the ARTober Fest at Valdosta, GA taking place the 25th of October. (Check it out if you have the time, ability or resources, Admission is free!)

Here’s what’s been going on:

First, I’ve been waiting for my new batch of paper to arrive. I received them a few days ago so I’ve been printing and cutting my smaller prints. I’ve been agonizing over the prices of my work. As a new artist, lower prices provide easier entry into my art world and work… but the cost of the materials stings.

Next, I messed up and bought lightweight glossy paper instead of something studier for the small prints, so I’ve now designated that paper for thank you notes and information about the art.

I’ve also been working on my business card, continuing new sticker designs (I failed at printing my stickers, so i’ll be outsourcing them).I’ve decided to make mystery bags and forwent the keychain idea. because the budget has run dry.

Another….wonderful thing I realized recently is that Valdosta, GA is 4 + hrs away from me by car…. so… that’s been a lovely thing to plan for.

I mean…who signs up for an event without even looking at the drive time first?

Me, apparently…..

I’ll be sure to do better moving forward… sigh

On a more upbeat note, I’m so looking forward to interacting with people who love art and wanna support artists and small businesses.

I looked at pictures of the event in previous years and it looked cool so I’m very excited about it.

And! I just love this whole process.. The printing, the drawing, the buying, the failures and successes. It’s been really stressfull but It has only solidified just how much I love making art.

And now, I’m about to figure out how I deal with sharing it with others, face to face…..as a socially awkward introvert…
