Silent Night

On a silent night like this

I anticipate the worst

I have not known peace for long, so we are not well acquainted

But it visits me from time to time

Only to get snatched away as quickly as a floating leaf in a whirlwind

Can you blame me for being anxious at my happiness, at my peace?

They only come in specks

and I make sure to cherish them

But this means that it hurts that much more when I’m ripped away from them

It is a pain that I’d wished many times to end

Alas, it does not

My words are nothing but helpless pleas to the ears of the chaotic nature of the universe.

Like an ant pleading to an elephant to curb it’s path so that it may not get stepped on

Hopeless

Useless
